The Farmington River traverses the downtown area. Biking is popular and challenging in the hills of New Hartford... up stream a bit, try biking in Pleasant Valley, some what flat and rolling, East & West River Road will take you along the Farmington River to Riverton Ct, home of the old Hitchcock Chair Company.  

West Hill: Brodie Park enjoy swimming at Brodie Beach, on West Hill Pond, 2 clay tennis courts, 4 basketball courts, home to the New Hartford Lions Club Flea Market, which is held in June and September. New Hartford Day in September.

"New Hartford Fishing Derby" held in May, preregistration at "Upcountry Sportfishng" Main Street (rte 44) in Pine Meadow-Prizes given!
